So we left NZ and Singapore is our first stop! Very much a jumping off point to get to Asia but we spent a day there to have the briefest look around… We spent the first day cruising the streets, swimming and hanging out as we were still pretty shattered from the flight. The next day though we were up early and went to Sentosa Island. We headed over on the gondola form Mt Faber which crosses a huge gap and goes through a high rise building! While on Sentosa we cranked up the km’s and saw the Merlion, Underwater World, Cinemania and went to the Beach. We then spent the afternoon cruising the river (Clarke & Boat Quay), soaking up the heat and partaking in a beer cos it was so hot (only the one though as they were incredibly expensive - $14 for a beer - yeah!).
Late that afternoon we headed to the airport to catch our plane to Bangkok. When we got there though we found out it had been delayed! Thankfully the people at Thai Air Asia are fantastic and they swapped us onto an earlier flight even though we were on the cheapest tickets ever! We paid NZD $120 for both of us to go from Singapore to Bangkok and that included taxes! Hooray for Renae planning in advance! The craziest thing about Thai Air Asia though is that it doesn’t have allocated seating so when they make the boarding call everyone runs for the gate and tries to get the best seats – just like the bus…. Really funny!
