Well St Patrick’s day was upon us so off we went… yep to Edinburgh… wrong country but the right idea! We headed up on the train on Friday night and stayed at a dodgy little backpackers!
On Saturday we went around to Jamie & Tutt’s – Tutty became tour guide extraordinaire for the day… off we went to in the Starlet and had a great look around the city… We ended up stopping at Murrayfield – Shane informed the guard that he was from the NZ Rugby Union and we were there to check out the field… anyway we went in and had a look – pretty cool!
After the visit to Murrayfield we headed out to watch a club rugby match between Selkirk and someone else…. (yep I was paying heaps of attention!) Anyway Selkirk lost but we managed to catch up with a friend of Tutt’s! Next stop was the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle…. AMAZING!!! This was a real highlight… Edinburgh is so old and beautiful! Took heaps of pics and made Shane do lots of geeky poses!!! Oh there will be so many more of these!
We walked back through town to the boys flat – and settled in for a few drinks! We headed over to the Walkabout (quite conveniently located directly across the road from the flat)… had a great night out!
We jumped back on the train on Sunday and headed back to London, only a flying visit to Scotland but we will definitely be back… we have ghost tours to do, castles to visit and a lochness monster to find!
