Bowls in the Park!

Our good friend Anthony took it upon himself to organise a day out in the park. This involved a round robin lawn bowls tournament and there were over 40 people involved in the competition. There were a couple of rules that had to be adhered to:
1 - Either whites or a costume of some description must be worn on the green
2 - The consumption of copious amounts of alcohol was a necessity
3 - The match referee was in control and all cheating he managed was not up for scrutiny.

Suprisingly enough London turned on a gorgeous day (22 degrees thanks very much) and we doned the required costume and headed to the green. The day was brilliant - my hidden lawn bowling talent remained very hidden for the entirity of the day and Shane and I did not even manage to make it into the quarter final which was a fairly disasterous result. We were hoping that we would get a bit further through the competition as Shane was quite keen to bring out the 'flipper', alas that was not to be.
We had quite an audience from the people in the park who enjoyed watching the antics on the green. There were a few moments when I am sure that the parents in particular were wishing that they had covered their kids ears/eyes... whoops!
The day concluded with prize giving at the green befre heading back to Portinscale Rd en masse to discuss the days event in detail and celebrate Ange's birthday.
