Andorra & Barcelona....

Well after the partying in Pamps it was off to Andorra, we decided to take the scenic route through the Prynees which was amazing... we were constantly stopping to take photos as the scenery was breath taking! The mountains are incredible and I gained full appreciation for the Tour de France riders ... well appreciation that they are mad to put themselves through this!

We got to the border and crossed over without hassle - Andorra is a little country between France & Spain (the whole country is about 2.5 times the size of Paris). We found a hostel for the night and savoured the fact that we could have a decent shower! We spent the next day wandering around town - the 'city' is very quaint and has a Queenstown type feel to it with lots of mountains surrounding and all of the shops with rock facades...

Andorra is supposed to be a shopping mecca as they have no tax! We found that they had a Perfumerie, Sunglass shop and skiing/ motobike shops every couple of metres! We made a few purchases before jumping back in the car and heading towards Barcelona. We made the the best decision ever and loaded the Western Europe map onto Tom Tom (our little sat nav!)... this potentially saved a marriage - Thanks Tom Tom!

Jannah pulled out a blinder and navigated us to a hostel in Barcelona on Las Ramblas, this was a fab part of town - full of activity! We walked the streets and took in the atmosphere... we headed over to the port and watched the street performers before having a fantastic dinner of Tapa's and beer!

We got up the next morning and headed to the market off Las Ramblas ... Yum - the food was soooo fresh and delicious we basically had our breakfast by grazing on all of the fruit, veggies and baguettes on offer! We spent a small fortune but really enjoyed it...

Next stop was the bus tour... the tour was not that hot! The highlight however was the crazy cathedral in the middle of Barcelona that is still under construction and not expected to be finished until about 2020... this has been under construction for about 126 years....

The architecture is crazy and very eclectic but well worth a visit! We jumped off the bus tour and wandered through the little cobbled streets - did a spot of shopping... surprise surprise! Only a flying visit to Barcelona as we were back in the car and heading down the east coast towards Valencia!
