Andorra Antics!

Jase is 30! A mid life crisis in the making that had to be celebrated in style so off to Andorra we went for a weekend of snow boarding and skiing! There were 13 of us in total who flew to Toulouse, France - the plane trip over was very rowdy and the EasyJet staff for all of their patience couldnt wait to off load us! We hired cars from the airport and drove up the Prynees to Andorra. Left hand drive, wrong side of the road, driving in the snow... a slightly different experience for me but I was away and laughing after a bit. We arrived in Andorra at our hotel at about 2am and hit the sack ready for a big day on the slopes on Saturday!
We headed up to Soldeu (back towards France) and once we were kitted out the boys and Anne headed up to run amok while we waited for our ski lesson to start. The four of us girls had a 4 hour lesson with the instructor and before long we were absolute pros... well kind of! We met back at the pub at the end of the day and went to head back to Andorra for a night out. As we were leaving we couldnt find the pay machine for the parking so Shane lifted the barrier for us to drive under and we headed back to town.... this was to come back and bite us later!

That night we headed to the pub and celebrated Jases's birthday in style! The next day we were up at the crack of noon and back up the mountain for another fun filled day. It all began peachy with Renae on the learner slopes and everyone else exploring the more rugged parts of the mountain. Shane came through and was witness to my amazing ski skill - oh yeah a bit of a natural! and decided that I would be fine to head to the tougher parts of the mountain... after some convincing we set off - big mistake! I spent most of the time on my ass, back, face and ended up soaked and grumpy! So the plan was for me to catch a gondola down to the next resort while Shane & Jon went to get the car and pick us up so that we could head back to the beginners slope... finally after 2.5 hours of waiting they arrived - Shane had been detained by the Policia at the car park for lifting the barrier and when he arrived to pick me up we were €350 poorer!

That night ended up in a few more drinks to continue the birthday celebrations and then miraculously a 6:30am start to make the most of the last day in up the mountain... When we got up there was fresh snow everywhere and the boys were champing at the bit to go and play! The snow was amazing and the general consensus was that it was the best day in the snow that any of the guys had had in a very long time! So at 4 o'clock it was a race to the bottom and into the cars to head back to Toulouse for our flight! Luckily this time Jon managed to make it on the plane and we got the full contingent home on the same flight! Awesome weekend had by all even though there were a few aches and pains being expereienced.
